Man, we are living in some sad times. Would first like to shout out to all our emergency workers on the front lines in the middle of this COVID-19 epidemic. You are risking your life to save others, and we truly thank you for that. Now, on to this next topic, I'm unemployed and this sucks! I live here in sunny Florida on the gulf coast, it's wedding season, prom season, graduation season, spring break, beach party season, do I really need to keep going? Everything was going fine, then BAM! Coronavirus. Now, there's really no one to blame, but this has really messed up my money! But really, is that all there is to being a DJ, to get paid? Well, times like these, make me really think back to why I started djing. I know it wasn't for the money, because that broke down equipment that I had wasn't getting nobody paid. It was for the love of music, music that brought out the best in people. That music that would make you think back to better times in life. So really, right now should be dj's busiest time in history, because in a way we have a responsibility, the responsibility to try to build up people's spirits. So what, I'm not dealing with a bridezilla that was paying me $1000 to act like she wasn't getting on my nerves or high schools students that have asked me to play the same song over again. Right now is the time for us as dj's to make that perfect mix for that nurse, who hasn't had a day off in months, or the police officers that are putting in more time to make sure that we keep our sanity during this time, or for our families who are out of work. Yes, dj's we have a responsibility. Now, we want to use our skill and our time to comfort others. We all know the power of music, and even though we have to do it from a distance, let's keep spinning. During this time, it doesn't matter if you are Jazzy Jeff or just like me (not Jazzy Jeff), let's keep doing our job for those who need us!
